index rebuild ...a long story

- Almost all big shops spent quite some time, resources and "outage" on reorganization of the tables and then of course indexes on those table. In this blog (which will take quite some time and effort to complete and make it useful for community ) , I will publish my experience , I will point you all to the best known discussions on web and many more things..

Thomas, is a strongest & most famous DBA I've known. However, something from him was not right, all of, he is a man, not Sain't. :)

And so, how do you think about the big story "Rebuild index"? An example: The big table ~ 1 bills rows, of course, I assume the table is heap, not partition. Will you choose "Rebuild index" or "Create new index" method?

I know, you know, we know about missing Index story - in many case. One is "<20% total of sample size column in dba_indexes". However, the min 20% of 1 billions is ...? And you will take a long time to create new index or rebuild?

Hmm, I think, some thing is different, some thing must is the true method, but we're human, not machine.
